HOW DO I PACK MY THINGS.
Your baggage is going across the world, not across the street so pack accordingly. Use suitcases or good quality strong boxes or bags. Remember these are your valuable personal effects that in most cases cannot be replaced no matter how much Insurance. Use good quality boxes. Jetta Excess Baggage have their own award winning boxes available from their offices in Australia and selected places throughout Australia. USE COMMON SENSE DO NOT OVERLOAD BOXES OR BAGS . You pay by weight and not by the number of boxes you send.
Use good quality packing tape and packing material. Pack delicate things in the centre and surround with clothes or newspapers. Jetta Excess Baggage have fragile tape. Ask our driver for fragile tape.
Computers and Hi- Fi equipment - use the original boxes. If you do not have the right boxes then go to the computer or Hi-fi shop.
Bikes. Go to a bike shop and get the right size box and the inner parts of the box. Bike box too small - bike wheels stick out of box - bike box to big - wheels move around. To pack your bike properly you need to take off the front wheel and turn the handle bars sideways. The front wheel should be packed in new bubble wrap and packed inside the bike forks. Ensure all dirt and mud is removed from the bike as there maybe a quarantine inspection in the country you are travelling to. If possible get the bike shop to pack your bike .
Use professional packers for fragile items. For boxes and packing materials go to www.movingoverseas.com.au and click on ‘boxes and packing material
The last word on packing is do NOT use the red and white stripy bags - they cost $1.00/$2.00 each and are trouble as they split open and rip easily. Suitcases are designed for 20 kilogram if you pack more sometimes they burst with the bigger weights.
CAN I USE OTHER COMPANIES CARTONS AND BOXES.
YES - We accept other companies cartons and boxes. Make sure you use good quality cartons and boxes. If second-hand cartons ensure old names are blanked off.

Ensure that all items are clearly labeled both inside and outside in English. Every item must have name and address including country of destination. Usually labels are with your airline ticket - if not ask either your travel agent or Airline for baggage labels.
